Lina Scheynius’ introduction to the world behind the lens is somewhat of a fairytale. She began uploading her work to Flickr six years ago while working as a fashion model and it is through the success of photoblogging that her stunning intimate shots of herself, her life and the people connected to her were shared on a viral scale.
“A lot of the pictures I took while I was modelling were the way I wanted to be photographed, rather than how they photographed me,” Scheynius recalls. “I think the reason my photographs are seen at all is because of the blogs…If people hadn’t continued reposting them, nobody would have ever seen them, because I didn’t take them into an agency or to any magazines. So I’m very thankful.”
Since her breakthrough in photography, Sheynius now regularly contributes to AnOther, Vogue and Dazed & Confused and recently released her fourth photo book. Take a look at some of her shots below:
